Who We Are

Founded in 1965 by Roberta Keese, Hilltop Humane Society is a non-profit, all-volunteer, strictly no-kill rescue organization dedicated to helping homeless and abused animals.  Hilltop became an official animal shelter in 1989 and achieved 501(c)3 status in 1993. Our primary goal is to work toward alleviating the tragic problem of pet overpopulation.
Formerly based in Randolph, we are so excited and lucky to have moved to a larger facility in Weymouth where our cats have more room to stretch their legs, and where we are better able to serve the community.

We are completely reliant on grants and donations from compassionate individuals that are dedicated to our cause.  We receive no government funding, and our lovely volunteers offer their help and care without pay.

What We Do

As resources permit, Hilltop assists in trap, neuter, return (TNR) of feral and homeless cats, a proven method of humane management.  After being neutered or spayed and vaccinated, these cats may be returned to the place where they were trapped and caretakers are recruited to feed and watch out for them.  Homes are sought for friendly cats and kittens that are appropriate for adoption.
Hilltop maintains a shelter in Weymouth where cats are provided with food, medical treatment, a safe place to live, and the loving care of our group of dedicated volunteers.  Foster homes nurture cats and kittens that need extra care and attention until they can be adopted into "forever" homes.
We educate the public about how vital it is to neuter and spay their household pets and encourage responsible pet ownership.  In addition, we stress that pets are a lifetime commitment, both emotionally and financially.

As a private, 501(c)3 non-profit, Hilltop Humane Society, Inc. is completely reliant on grants and donations from compassionate private citizens who want to help us continue our important mission.  We receive no government funding and no one is paid for their work.
